Bullsugar Announces Debut of Clean Water Election Site, VoteWater.org
Today, Bullsugar.org is proud to announce the debut of a new initiative, Vote Water, that will spearhead our clean-water voter guides for the 2020 election season.
VoteWater.org is a nonpartisan, grassroots effort designed to help Floridians identify clean-water candidates committed to policymaking that addresses Florida’s toxic bloom crises and the restoration of America’s Everglades. We can’t fix our water problems unless we fix the politics that created them.

“The Vote Water campaign is a critically important effort to help voters focus on the protection and restoration of the Everglades, Florida Bay, rivers and coastal estuaries when considering candidates at the local, state and federal level during the 2020 elections,” Bullsugar board member Ray Judah said. “A vote for clean water transcends partisan politics and is vital to enhance our quality of life.”
VoteWater.org is an expansion of Bullsugar’s previous election efforts, activating a group of volunteer county captains from around the state to lead website development, candidate research, and outreach efforts surrounding this year’s candidate questionnaire. These volunteers are Florida residents who care deeply about clean water in their home communities.
Voter guides will be posted later this summer at VoteWater.org, and will identify candidates whose statements, records, and questionnaire responses show commitment to clean-water policies and a refusal to allow contributions from the sugarcane industry to influence their decision making.
“Candidate responses to the Vote Water questionnaire offer helpful insight into the candidates’ commitment to prioritize the responsible stewardship of our precious water resources to protect our public health and the long term sustainability of our environment and economic prosperity,” Judah said.
Now we need your help. Spread the word far and wide that clean-water voter guides are coming to VoteWater.org. If this is an effort you care about, please consider making a donation today to help us fund it. Every penny we raise during this time will be used towards creation and promotion of the 2020 voter guides. And most importantly, get ready to bring your outrage and your passion for change to the ballot box.
